Washing and caring for your extensions

Your extensions need a little extra attention if they are to keep feeling soft, looking glossy and staying beautiful. Because extensions do not get natural oils from the scalp the way your own hair does, it is especially important to add moisture and care to the lengths.

When you wash your hair, be gentle and avoid unnecessary wear and tangling. A good hair routine makes a big difference to your extensions.

  • Comb your hair through gently before washing.
  • Wash mainly the scalp, and let the shampoo rinse naturally through the lengths.
  • Always use conditioner at every wash.
  • Treat the lengths and the ends to a good hair mask, ideally at every wash or every other wash.
  • Avoid rubbing or tousling the hair while washing.
  • Comb the hair gently after washing, always starting at the ends and working upwards.
  • Always use heat protection when you apply heat to your own hair and your extensions. We recommend Princess Beauty Heat Protection.
  • Apply a small amount of hair oil to the lengths and the ends, morning and evening.
  • Sleep with your hair gathered loosely in a braid or a ponytail, to reduce tangling and wear.

With the right care you can extend the life of your extensions and keep them soft, glossy and well looked after. ✨
