How many grams do I need?

50 grams is not always just 50 grams
50 grams of extensions can look very different depending on the length you choose.
50 grams at 40 cm will usually give more volume, because the hair is spread over a shorter length. If you choose 60 cm instead, the same 50 grams is spread over considerably more hair, so the result will often look lighter and less full.
So if you dream of long hair with plenty of volume, you may need more grams the longer the extensions you choose.
At Princess Beauty we are happy to help you find the right amount of hair, based on your own hair length, its thickness and the result you want. ✨
Do you want more volume?
Hair extensions are not only for those dreaming of longer hair. Extensions are also a wonderful way to give your hair more volume and a fuller look – without necessarily adding extra length.
If volume is mainly what you are after, 50 grams of hair is often a good starting point and can be enough to give most hair types a visible lift.
And if your extensions are longer than your own hair, that is no problem either. They can easily be cut so the length sits naturally with your own hair.
That way you get the extra volume you want, and the result still looks natural. ✨
Do you have fine, thin hair?
When your hair is fine or thin, it is not only about choosing the right length – the amount of hair also plays a big part in how natural and full the result looks. Too much hair can look unnatural too.
If you want both more length and more volume, 100 grams will often be about right. It adds extra fullness without the hair feeling or looking overloaded.
If your hair is short, and especially if it is cut very bluntly, 150 grams can be an advantage. It gives more hair to work with and makes it easier for the extensions to fall naturally with your own hair.
The most important thing, of course, is that the amount suits your starting point and the result you want. ✨
Not thin, but not thick either?
Do you have medium-thick hair?
If your hair is neither very thin nor very thick, 150 grams of extensions is usually a good starting point when you want both more length and more volume. The exact amount also depends on your haircut and the result you want to achieve.
If your hair is short and cut very bluntly, it can be an advantage to go up to 200 grams. It often takes a little more hair to create a soft, natural transition between your own hair and the extensions.
Do you have thick or heavy hair?
If you have a thick or very full hair type, it usually takes a little more hair to create an even result. If you want extra length and want to keep a full look at the same time, 200 grams of extensions is often a good starting point.
If you have a short haircut with a completely blunt or bold cut, you may need even more hair. In those cases we usually recommend 250 grams, so your extensions have enough volume to blend naturally into your own hair.
That way you get a beautiful transition and a result that looks natural from root to tip. ✨
